For ease of reading, Company has published components of its Terms on multiple pages of this website. The following are incorporated as part of these Terms by reference:
Throughout the Freelancer Terms, the collective content from the Website and any product/service sold by Company on the Website will be referred to as “Company Content.”
Your use of the Company Content constitutes your acceptance of, and agreement to, the following Freelancer Terms.
MODIFICATION OF TERMS
Establishing Your Account
On the Website, you may establish an account as a freelancer (“Freelancer”). There are three account types that you may select. The type of account, price, and features are described in the table below. Basic Accounts will have all the features offered from Free Accounts, plus the additional features listed. Pro Accounts will have all the features offered to Free and Basic accounts, plus the additional features listed in the table.

To establish a Free Freelancer account, no purchase is necessary; however, to access other features, such as applying for jobs and messaging Clients, you will need to have a Basic or Pro Freelancer account.
You may elect to pay for your Basic or Pro account on a monthly or annual basis. You will select the frequency of billing at the time of purchase. You will be billed at the time you establish either a Basic or Pro account.
You will be billed monthly or annually for your Basic or Pro Freelancer account, depending on your selection. You are required to keep a credit card on file, which may be updated at any time by accessing the billing section of your account profile. If, at any time, we are unable to charge you for renewal of your Basic or Pro Freelancer account, we will contact you to update your payment information. If your payment information is not updated within 10 days, we will suspend your account/downgrade it to the free version.
You can upgrade or downgrade your Freelancer account at any time. If you upgrade from a Free account to either Basic or Pro, you must make your initial payment in accordance with the terms above.
If you downgrade at least 3 working days prior to your next billing date, you will not be billed at the same rate.
You can cancel your Freelancer Account at any time. To cancel, navigate to the Account Settings, then Subscriptions to change your subscription account type. Your Account will be canceled at the expiration of the period for which you have already paid. This makes your profile hidden and not viewable to the general public. You may still view and manipulate your profile in a free account. This allows for future use of the account with your information being stored in the system.
If you have a Basic or Pro Account, you must cancel at least 3 working days prior to your next billing date. If you have paid annually, you will not receive a prorated refund on the annual fee.
At any time, you may downgrade your account to a Free account. If you no longer want any of your information stored on the site, you can email [email protected] to have our admin do a complete wipe of your account.
Refunds are not available for Basic or Pro Freelancer Accounts.
BUILDING YOUR FREELANCER PROFILE
All Freelancer accounts may begin building a Freelancer Profile. Additional customization is offered, depending upon whether you're a Basic or Pro member.
When building your profile, you agree to abide by the following rules:
- You will be honest. In other words, you won’t add skills that you don’t have in an attempt to get jobs you may not be qualified for.
- You will abide by our code of conduct.
- You will upload only valid certification certificates.
- If you upload work samples, they are examples of your work, and not the work of a third party.
- If you upload any content, including images, photos of you, or video, you are granting us permission to post this content on your behalf.
- You agree to honor your contractual obligations. For example, if you have a client with an exclusivity provision, you will not advertise yourself as available to work in any excluded industries. If you breach an agreement due to work accepted through HelloSavvy, we are not responsible for your violation.
- You will not post any confidential, defamatory, or inappropriate content on your profile.
Once your profile is live, any member of the public will be able to access it. It will be displayed with your first name and last initial or your business name. Please do not submit a profile if you do not want it to be accessible to the public.
HelloSavvy has a number of built-in types of filtering criteria, from experience with certain tools to language proficiency. You agree to enter honest information into the profile. If you are asked to rate yourself on certain skills, please do so honestly.
Our goal is to create good matches between Freelancers and Clients. If you do not include honest information, this may lead to unhappy clients and bad reviews.
Please note that you are invited to enter personality information. This includes categories from a number of commonly used personality frameworks, such as the Enneagram, Strengths Finder, or Kolbe. These categories are not required; however, if you report them, please include accurate results to the best of your ability.
There is absolutely no requirement that you need to list any information in this category. It is simply there for Clients to use as a filter to help gain insights as to whether someone is a good fit for their needs. If you do not want this information considered, please do not include it in your profile.
In your portfolio, you may also list certifications that you’ve obtained. You may upload copies of your certificates, if available.
Please ensure that you are only including up-to-date certifications in your profile. If we receive notification from a certifying entity that you are improperly listing a certification, we will remove it immediately. Depending on the circumstances, we may determine that your profile should be disabled.
Basic and Pro Freelancer Accounts will have the ability to use the HelloSavvy messaging system. This will allow you to message other users. At all times, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct when using the messaging system.
The messaging system has the ability to block or report users. If you are engaging with another member and they have violated the Code of Conduct, please flag the message and report it to us.
If it is found that any user has violated any of the Terms, Company reserves the right to ban the individual from holding an account on the Website or from accessing any Company Content.
You agree that HelloSavvy is not responsible for the content of any messages sent from third parties to you on the HelloSavvy platform.
APPLYING FOR JOBOPPS
Clients will be eligible to post JobOpps, which are job opportunities they are looking to fill. If you feel you are a good fit to work with a Client, you may submit a proposal for the JobOpp if you are in a good standing Basic or Pro Freelancer account.
At that time, it will be up to the Client to take next steps. Unless there is a Code of Conduct violation, we will not intervene in the hiring process or reach out to Clients on your behalf.
You agree that HelloSavvy is responsible for hosting your portfolio and the HelloSavvy platform only. There are no guarantees that you will receive offers for any work through the platform.
WORKING WITH CLIENTS
When you are hired by a Client, the Client will indicate that you have been hired.
The HelloSavvy platform is intended to connect hiring Clients with Freelancers, who will be listed as independent contractors.
State laws vary on the hiring of independent contractors. It is up to you to know whether or not you are eligible to be hired as an independent contractor.
You agree that HelloSavvy is not responsible for ascertaining your eligibility to be hired as an independent contractor. You agree that you will not hold us liable if you are found to be serving as an independent contractor in contravention with any local, state, or federal laws.
It is up to you and the Client to enter into an agreement. We strongly recommend that you enter a written contract. The JobOpp does not serve as a contract or scope of work.
Once you are hired, the HelloSavvy platform is no longer used. At that stage, we recommend moving to your usual client communication platform.
You agree that HelloSavvy is not responsible for assisting you with obtaining contracts for any opportunities with Clients. HelloSavvy is not a law firm and will not provide you with any advice or support during the contract stage. Please talk to your lawyer for assistance.
Please remember, we do not take any fees from you upon hiring. We are not paid any portion of the invoice. We do not serve as an escrow or payment service. You must accept payment from Clients directly.
You agree that HelloSavvy is not responsible for collection of any payments, other than for your payments due for a Basic or Pro Freelancer account. You will not hold HelloSavvy liable for any disputes related to payments from Clients.
Clients will be invited to leave reviews for Freelancers who they have hired through HelloSavvy. Please note that they are asked to leave honest feedback. If the review is honest and reflective of a Client’s experience, we will not remove it simply because they left feedback with which you don’t agree.
If the review is false or inaccurate, you may notify us with a request to remove or correct it.
Please note that we will not actively monitor the reviews that are submitted. If there is an issue with a review, please notify us immediately.
Reviews will be attached to your profile and available for the public to view, although some information may not be visible to non-members.
If we discover that you have deleted one account and opened a new account because you want to avoid having a review attached to your profile, we reserve the right to disable your new profile.
You agree that you will not hold HelloSavvy responsible for the content of any review left on your profile.
CODE OF CONDUCT
In your portfolio and in all messages, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct. The following types of communications will not be tolerated:
- Harassment directed toward any HelloSavvy member or Company’s staff
- No profanity or sexual content
- Spam, which includes unsolicited pitches of any kind
- Hate Speech of any kind
- Defamatory statements regarding any party, including Company
- References to illegal acts
- Contributions that may violate the rights of any third party (e.g., claiming a piece of content is your work and another party has the rights)
Any violations of the Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to the Company. Company’s sole discretion will be used to determine if a member is in violation of these policies. Any Freelancer or Client in violation will be deleted promptly and will no longer be able to access their account. No refund will be due to a member who has been removed for a violation of this policy.
You agree to abide by the HelloSavvy Code of Conduct in your Freelancer Portfolio and Client communications.
ADDING A CLIENT ACCOUNT
As a Freelancer, you may also have needs for your business, such as hiring other Freelancers to provide services or to hire subcontractors. You are invited to use the HelloSavvy platform for these needs.
If you’d like to add a Client account, you must be a Pro Freelancer account holder.
Occasionally, we may solicit testimonials about the HelloSavvy service. If you provide us with a testimonial, you agree that we may publish the content of the testimonial, as well as your name and photo.
The Company offers an affiliate program to all members.
It’s our hope that all relationships formed through HelloSavvy will go smoothly. Our goal is to provide a platform where you can find the right Clients.
However, we cannot guarantee that all relationships will go smoothly. This is why we urge you to ensure you have a contract with any Clients. That contract will be what you need to rely on in the event of a dispute.
